Kenyon Midget Gear Charts

There are several factors that dictate the final drive ratio of a Kenyon Midget. First the Yamaha engine includes a 5 speed transmission, then there is the ring and pinion ration of the rear end, and finally the quick change gear set that is installed in the rear end.

We have done all of the math for you, and the chart below shows the final ratios for all gear sets, based on a 4.33 rear end ring and pinion ratio. This is the ring and pinion that most Kenyon Midget were built with. If you happen to have a 3.78 ring and pinion, just reach out and we can provide a chart for 3.78 rear end.

To take it one setup further, we have also created a gear chart that shows the speed you will achieve at the 10,000 rpm rev limit for each gear. This chart is not exact, because final speed depends on tire size, and exactly how much that tire is slipping. We have made some assumptions here, but we use this chart a lot. It makes it easy to see how much top speed changes for different gear sets.
